Stepping into School

The transition into Kindergarten and School is a big one for children and their parents.

With the help of some incredible collaborators we ran a series of workshops that explored this threshold as part of a school holiday program supported by the Macedon Ranges Shire Council.

“Your show brought my child and I closer together in such a special and open way. It has given us some special tools that have contributed to our sense of connection to each other when we are apart…”

“A connective experience. A way of standing still in the universe for a moment with your child and realising you are everything to each other right then and there."

We’ve been making theatre for a long time, in fact this whole company grew out of us looking back at some of our work and seeing there was a thread - much of it revolved around big life moments.

So, while we’ll continue to develop products, we’ll also create larger scale theatre works from time to time that investigate these thresholds.

Mountains of Kindness was a community installation, perfect for families with young children who are stepping out into the world by themselves, and as they settle into Kinder or Primary School.

This is a special opportunity for children to work with artists to creatively respond to their sense of place and share their experiences of the world.

To stay in the loop for all our developments, be sure to join our mailing list.

In May 2020, we were commissioned by Adelaide Festival Centre’s DreamBig Children’s Festival, Arts Centre Melbourne, HOTA and AWESOME Festival Perth to develop Mountains of Kindness into a audio-led experience that families could do together in their own home. The result is Mountain Goat Mountain.
