A feathered friend has lost its feathers - help it to ‘Power Up’ and set into the sky again!

"Such a generous offering to a family...the experience is collective, embodied, surprising and open-ended."

-Lilly Blue, Learning and Creativity Research Manager, Art Gallery WA

“Threshold are taking the concept of take-home resources and turning them completely on their head creating quality professional experiences where ever children and their carers choose to activate them. Threshold are grounded in the theatrical languages of experience, participation and immersion and are cleverly translating these to home based experiences.”

-Frank Newman - Creative Learning Specialist, Sydney Opera House

Guided by a set of beautiful cards, concealed around the house, families connect with each other through play as they work to complete the quest and discover its final message of hope.

Originally commissioned by ArtPlay, City of Melbourne Feather Quest has had seasons at Sydney Opera House and dreamBIG Festival Adelaide as part of their family programs and festivals.

Feather Quest is available in English and Mandarin.

How the adventure unfolds.

Feather Quest is an interactive journey that shadows the life of a bird from the warmth and intimacy of the nest to the freedom of the wide-open sky.

Families are invited to gather their treasures like a bowerbird, discover their family birdcall, care for their brood and soar through the rooms in their home.

Guided by a set of beautiful cards, concealed around the house, families connect with each other through play as they work to complete the quest and discover its final message of hope.

“Beautifully crafted and designed, a gorgeous way to reconnect with the kids and get us all off digital for a while!”
