Find your reflection in puddles, arrange fuzzy felt pieces and dive into a moment of rest as you are immersed in the generosity of rain. Chart the seasons between you and your child and observe the weather patterns in the ever-changing dynamics of your relationship.
An intimate world that invites both playful curiosity and restful reflection.
'Rain: for babies and their carers' was first created as a performance installation at ArtPlay in 2012. Conceived as a sanctuary for new parents to immerse themselves in the wonders of early parenthood, Rain gained attention for its blend of theatricality and intimacy. The production has toured across Australia and internationally.
Originally created as a theatrical installation by SEAM artists Liz Francis, Nikita Hederics, Mardi Thorpe and Alicia Stafford, Drop Bear Theatre artists Carolyn Ramsey and Sarah Lockwood and cellist Edwina Cordingley.
In 2024, Liz Francis, Nikita Hederics, ZoĆ« Barry and Sarah Lockwood have responded and reflected on Rain: the performance installation and re-imagined it for ArtPlayās gallery space.
RAIN: the exhibition is produced by Threshold, an Australian company who create experiences that invite people to connect more deeply with each other.
