THE FLYING CANOE is an interactive audio experience for families to do together that will transport them to the islands of Kiribati, and immerse them in Pacific culture.
Featuring an oceanic soundscape that includes traditional Kiribati songs, families will transform their lounge rooms into a world of myths and legends.

an at-home experience for families
in schools with online resources
a scaleable hybrid version for venues & public spaces.
In every form, 'The Flying Canoe' will drop audiences into a world of myths, legends and embodied adventure!
Created with Kiribati writer Marita Davies, 'The Flying Canoe' is the follow up work to Threshold's internationally acclaimed 'Mountain Goat Mountain'.

A sound recording from the Kiribati Cultural Day in Kyneton - with performances by the Kiribati community.
Recordings from the day will feature as part of the soundscape in the brand new audio-theatre work 'The Flying Canoe'.
The Kiribati Cultural Day was held at the Social Foundry, on the unceded land of the Taungurung people.
