Interactive theatre on demand.

Threshold create experiences that invite people to connect more deeply with each other- wherever they are!

Threshold artists are theatre makers who are interested in new ways of delivering experiences to families.

In 2024, Threshold have partnered with ArtPlay, City of Melbourne to deliver a series of experiences for families to access on demand.

Both organisations are committed to creating creative work that invites families to be playful and active together.

"Threshold are leading the way in digital programming for children and ArtPlay feel so grateful to be able to offer digital works of this quality and rigour to our audiences. Hundreds of families have connected with ArtPlay via our digital programming arm and we are excited to continue to build engagement and offer creative programs in this way."

- ArtPlay, City of Melbourne

Why are we committed to creating theatrically inspired work that can be accessed anytime, from anywhere?

It's flexible: From 5am in the morning till 10pm at night, families are accessing Threshold's work at times that suit them. Venues are also enjoying the flexibility of programming our work around existing shows to connect with audiences in new and innovative ways.

It's accessible: Results from the 2022 National Arts Participation Survey showed that 88% of Australians are engaging with arts & cultural activities online. Digital delivery reduces geographic, financial and physical barriers to attending venues - while still building rapport between organisations and their audiences.

We are a regionally based company: We are based outside of a city centre, and work with many regionally based artists. We engage with many regional familes. In fact 25% of our Australian engagement has been from regional areas.

In 2024, Threshold have partnered with ArtPlay, City of Melbourne to deliver a series of experiences for families to access on demand.

These include: ‘Mountain Goat Mountain’ in English and Mandarin, ‘Glow for carers of new babies’ and ‘Best.Party.Ever!’, a zoom based show for Grandparents and their Grandparents. In 2023, ArtPlay supported the development of audio adventure ‘The Flying Canoe: a Kiribati adventure.’
